The Virgin international website placed Ljubljana on the list of seven green technologies from around the world which can leave a green mark on our lifestyle in future, namely, with the introduction of the Urbana card Ljubljana made a leap in the direction of environmental protection in transport.

Ljubljana, European Green Capital 2016, was ranked fourth on the list. In the opinion of the judges the uniform city card Urbana has a great impact on the environment as it enables local residents and tourists to leave their cars on the city outskirts and take a bus into Ljubljana, rent a bicycle and in the city centre reserved for cyclist and pedestrians they can hail an electrically-powered vehicle Kavalir. Among the solutions on the list the Urbana card is one of the few ones already in use, most of the others are still in the planning or testing phase.
