Ljubljana Tourism received the Pink Dragon Award
At the Dragon’s Ball gala, closing this year’s Pink Week festival, an innovative project for the promotion of unique top-level experiences and for the promotion of Ljubljana and Slovenia as LGBT-friendly destinations, Ljubljana Tourism received the Pink Dragon Award for its contribution to the development of niche tourism and the introduction of best practices respecting diversity.
Representatives of the Luxury Slovenia company, the organiser of the Pink Week festival, at which the Pink Dragon Award is presented, Mattej Valenčič and Matej Knific gave the award to the Director of Ljubljana Tourism Petra Stušek, MA, noting: »Tourism Ljubljana has been our partner since the Pink Week was first organised five years ago. Its professional approach, great team and understanding of importance of destination promotion to diverse segments of visitors have contributed to higher recognisability of Ljubljana among LGBT visitors at international level. Ljubljana is now known as an LGBT-friendly and safe destination thanks to Ljubljana Tourism, its Director Petra Stušek, MA, and her team.«
On the international LGBT scene the Pink Week is already well-established as a week, when members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and transsexual community from around the world can enjoy the beauties of Ljubljana and other tourist destinations, get to know the local cuisine and have fun. It is also attended by numerous tour operators from abroad and media representatives contributing to the promotion of Ljubljana and Slovenia as LGBT-friendly destinations with a lot to offer.
