At 12th International conference of the IOBC/WPRS Working Group on the integrated protection of stored products in Pisa (Italy), notable attention was given to Slovenian researchers.

Poster presentation, entitled »First results on potential insecticidal activity of plant powders of invasive alien plants against rice weevil under laboratory conditions«, authored by research fellow Dr. Tanja Bohinc (UL, Biotechnical faculty, Department of Agronomy) was acknowledged as best poster presentation among 50 poster presentations. Together with Prof. Dr. Stanislav Trdan (as co-author), they confirmed that plant powders from invasive plant species do not cause high mortality on rice weevil, which is an important insect pest in stored wheat grain in Slovenia and other continents as well.
The poster was made in the framework of APPLAUSE project.
