The International Day for Biodiversity, with this year's theme »Be Part of the Plan«, will be marked with the festival Biodiverse on Wednesday, 22 May 2024, between 9:00 and 18:00 on Stritar Street.

The festival will bring together different organisations that work with bumblebees, frogs, butterflies, beavers, plants, fungi, birds and many other organisms. You can buy seeds of native plant species, try your hand at plant and insect identification, recognise tree species by their leaves, and see if there is life below the earth's surface, we will also have some interesting activities for the youngest.

Be part of the plan

The theme for this year's International Day for Biodiversity, »Be Part of the Plan«, is a call to action for all stakeholders to halt and reverse biodiversity loss by supporting the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, also referred to as the Biodiversity Plan. The slogan is based on the agreement of the United Nations Conference on Biodiversity COP 15 in Montreal (2022), which aims to protect 30 percent of the planet by 2030. It is a call to focus on the implementation of this agreement.
