On Wednesday 16 November 2011, a new Day activity centre for the elderly opened at Tržaška cesta 37 in Vič.

Since 2005, with the support of the City of Ljubljana, eight Day activity centres for the elderly have opened in Ljubljana. Four of them, including the new Day activity centre for the elderly in Vič, operate under the wings of the Ljubljana City Association for the Retired.
In Ljubljana, day activity centres for the elderly are attended by between 30 and 80 older people a day. Their programmes are diverse and contribute to creating favourable conditions for the quality of life of older people. Older residents can take part in various activities and keep up their psycho-social health, socialisation and inter-generational connections and other leisure time activities (art, keep fit, yoga, foreign language lessons etc.)
