Ljubljana City Councillor Prof Dr Slavko Ziherl of the Liberal Democracy of Slovenia party has died.

Prof Dr Slavko Ziherl was a PhD in psychiatry, doctor, director and professional director of Ljubljana University Medical Centre Psychiatric Clinic and a Professor at Ljubljana University Faculties of Medicine and Law. He was a renowned expert in the field of suicide prevention, the treatment of alcoholism and other forms of addiction and the author of numerous professional works. He had been a Ljubljana City Councillor since 2006.

A sorrowful meeting in memorial of Ljubljana City Councillor Prof Dr Slavko Ziherl was held at 1pm on Tuesday 24 January 2012 in the Large Meeting Hall at City Hall.
