For a more beautiful Ljubljana – leave no traces in nature

In Ljubljana, we are once again preparing the traditional spring environmental campaign For a More Beautiful Ljubljana, and within its framework we are planning numerous activities between 22 March, World Water Day, and 22 April, Earth Day.

As we are noticing that some individuals have become indifferent to waste management during the epidemic, especially with the used packaging of take-out food, which they leave everywhere and forget that it belongs in waste bins or containers, this year we are bringing this topic into focus. Let us promote a respectful attitude towards the environment and act responsibly to make our planet cleaner.

The campaign For a More Beautiful Ljubljana is an opportunity to emphasize that waste belongs in street bins or underground containers for separate waste collection, and we ask citizens to take larger pieces of packaging (pizza boxes and other food containers, bottles, cans, plastic bottles…) with them and dispose of them in home containers or containers in eco-islands.

The overload of waste in public areas is also evident from the fact that last year we collected almost 50 tons more waste just on green public areas than in 2019.

As part of the campaign For a More Beautiful Ljubljana and on the occasion of 21 March, International Day of Forests, we are also starting this year's activities of the socially responsible campaign Man, take care of your city. We are focusing attention on the attitude towards city forests and raising awareness about the appropriate conduct and behaviour in them.
