At Ljubljana Castle at noon on Tuesday 30 August, Mayor of Ljubljana Zoran Janković welcomed Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Dr Angela Merkel.

German Chancellor Dr Angela Merkel is in Slovenia on a short state visit at the invitation of Slovenian Prime Minister Borut Pahor.

In the presence of the Mayor of Ljubljana and the Slovenian Premier at Ljubljana Castle, Dr Angela Merkel signed the City of Ljubljana's Golden Book and on Germany's behalf expressed her best wishes and sincere greetings to the citizens of Ljubljana.
