Intercultural diversity and inclusion in Ljubljana

May is European Diversity Month, highlighting the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and society in general.

In Ljubljana, we will also mark it with an Intercultural Diversity and Inclusion event held on Wednesday, 29 May 2024, at the City Hall. The aim of the event, which we are organising with the Diversity Charter Slovenia institute, is to share experiences, perspectives and good practices in intercultural cooperation and organisational governance, especially in terms of employing foreigners and thus building a fair and inclusive environment for all.

Gold award for inclusion and diversity

The City of Ljubljana is proud to have received the European Capitals of Inclusion and Diversity Gold Award, presented by the European Commission.
Ljubljana was recognized as a city that respects diversity, includes all vulnerable groups and actively creates a discrimination-free society. The award especially recognized our efforts and activities in preventing violence against women. In the City of Ljubljana, we have been supporting the efforts of non-governmental organizations for many years, as they significantly contribute to raising awareness as well as recognising and reducing violence against women. With public tenders, we co-finance various programs aimed at both women and children, victims of violence (e.g., safe houses, counselling centres) and perpetrators of violence (workshops), and we are actively involved in various awareness-raising activities.
