The oldest swimming pool complex in Ljubljana, Kolezija, is open again and it has a new image!

The renovated swimming pool complex Kolezija includes an Olympic-size pool, a children’s pool, a paddling pool, a massage pool and a pool-side deck with wooden benches for sunbathing. There are sports and recreational surfaces at disposal, namely a table tennis area, a basketball court and a sand volleyball court.
There are no architectural barriers at the premises therefore they are accessible to the movement-impaired.
The project, the result of which is the present-day image of the pool complex, was developed in the architectural bureau Ravnikar Potokar under the leadership of Robert Potokar with a prominent role played by Tanja Košuta and Andrej Strehovec. In designing the pool complex strong emphasis was given to the protection of the monumental heritage and preservation of green areas with as many existing trees as possible, namely the area of Kolezija is known for its mighty trees. Because of its long tradition the basketball court where many generations spent their free time in the sporting spirit was preserved as well.
