Former City of Ljubljana scholarship holder Jernej Godec received the Modell Award from the Harvard Medical School for his outstanding doctoral thesis in the field of immunology.

Jernej Godec, swimmer and participant in the Olympic Games in Athens and Beijing, World University Games and World Military Championships winner and finalist at World and European championships, after concluding molecular and cellular biology studies at the Californian Berkley University enrolled in the doctoral programme in immunology at the Harvard University.

He received the Modell Award for his outstanding doctoral dissertation presented by the Harvard Medical School based on the success of the student’s doctoral thesis and the number of his publications in the field. With his outstanding doctoral thesis and achievements in the scientific field Jernej Godec became the best doctoral student in the field of immunology.
