Ljubljana among the best on the way to a climate agreement

After Ljubljana was selected as one of the 100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030 as part of the European Commission's Climate Neutral and Smart Cities mission, the City of Ljubljana submitted the complete documentation to the European Commission for signing the climate agreement on 15 March 2024.

The European Commission will carry out a comprehensive assessment of the documentation, which includes:

1. Action plan for the decarbonisation of Ljubljana by 2030
2. Investment plan
3. The city's commitment to decarbonisation and the support shown by various stakeholders

The documentation was submitted for assessment by 23 European cities, the review had two stages, and at the first stage of evaluation, our city received an excellent score, as we received as many as 96 out of 100 points in total. Ljubljana was thus ranked among the ten cities that qualified directly for the second round of evaluation.

After the assessment, we will receive the special prestigious label »Ljubljana, Carbon-Neutral City«.
