Ljubljana, the City of Heroes, marks the city holiday, Victory Day, on 9 May. Every year, we celebrate the holiday with a formal sitting of the City Council of the City of Ljubljana, at which we present the highest recognitions of the City of Ljubljana: the titles of Honorary Citizens as well as the Awards and Plaques of the City of Ljubljana.

This year, the Ljubljana city holiday will again be celebrated with the march on the Path along the Wire and the triples run. It is the largest sports and recreational event in our country, and it will take place from Friday to Sunday, that is, between 5 and 8 May 2022.

After two years of limiting the event because of the restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus epidemic, this year, we will once again go on a march along the Path of Memories and Comradeship, where Italian and later on German occupiers erected a barbed wire during World War II.
