Ljubljana is among the ten safest cities in Europe
The Best Diplomats organisation ranked Ljubljana third on the list of the safest cities in Europe. The safety rating also emphasises the safety of public passenger transport in our city.
The report states that Ljubljana's public transport is efficient and safe. Buses are monitored and security officers patrol key bus stations.
The city is also safe for cyclists, with a strong focus on investment in cycling infrastructure, new cycling lanes, and the promotion of bike sharing.
They also stress that public spaces and the city's many parks are well-maintained, well-lit and provide a safe environment for citizens and visitors.
The report also points out the many cultural events where the safety of visitors is guaranteed. The police are also rated highly, as they consider them to be efficient, placing emphasis also on preventive measures.
The Ljubljana emergency room also received an excellent rating, as their reaction time is often less than eight minutes.
The Hague is the safest city in Europe, according to Best Diplomats, followed by Munich and then Ljubljana.
