Ljubljana shelter celebrates 10 years

On 4 October 2012 – World Animal Day – Ljubljana Centre for Abandoned Animals celebrates 10 years of its operations.

A decade is not a short period and in this time the shelter has seen the writing of more than 20,000 animal stories, joyful, moving and also some a little less happy but which have left everyone feeling deeply touched.

World Animal Day and the shelter’s anniversary are to be celebrated from 10am to 6pm on Thursday 4 October 2012, when it throws open its doors ready to show you around the shelter and read animal stories written in the shelter.

You will be able to get to know the abandoned animals and the shelter staff will help you to choose your new furry friends. Regular dog walkers from the shelter will also share their stories with you.

You will be able to get to know shelter legends Piko and Lordo, for whom the hope is that new homes will be found on the anniversary. This would be a wonderful gift for Ljubljana Shelter’s tenth birthday.

Throughout the years, old friends from various organisations and societies as well as animal lovers who have helped to carry out Ljubljana Shelter’s mission have stood faithfully by the shelter. All friends and animal lovers deserve a massive THANK YOU, while those that have given special help will on this occasion receive special awards of gratitude.

Ljubljana Shelter seeks to adhere to contemporary animal care standards and continuously strives to improve animals’ living conditions and their care so on the tenth anniversary of operations they will also showcase a plan for the eagerly awaited new Ljubljana Animal Shelter.

More about the Ljubljana Shelter for Abandoned Animals can be found on the shelter’s website.
