Today, Mayor Zoran Janković hosted the Mayor of Zagreb, Tomislav Tomašević, and his delegation, who came on an official working visit.

Mayor Zoran Janković and his colleagues showed the guests the development of Ljubljana, based on sustainable principles, and numerous projects with which we ensure a high quality of life for our citizens in all areas of living and operating. He said he was pleased that his colleague from Zagreb and his team came on their first visit and that he is also looking forward to continuing the good cooperation between the two cities. The Mayor emphasized, among other things, that we are proud our work is also acknowledged at the international level, as Ljubljana is ranking at the very top among all European Green Capitals so far, this year we were recognized as the best destination in Europe, and we also received the third Access City Award for ensuring accessibility of the city to people with disabilities.

We presented the activities of the Ljubljana Public Holding and the Ljubljana Regional Waste Management Centre RCERO to the guests, and we also showed them the underground waste collection system in Congress Square.

Mayor Tomislav Tomašević pointed out how important it is for them to exchange experiences and good practices in the field of waste collection and disposal. Namely, the new waste collection system was introduced in Zagreb only this year, while Ljubljana has had it for many years.
Mayor Zoran Janković led the delegation from Zagreb through the city centre, which is reserved only for pedestrians and cyclists.
