In Štepanjsko naselje, on the green between the embankment Štepanjsko nabrežje and the street Parmska cesta, in the immediate vicinity of the Oton Župančič Kindergarten, we constructed a new bike park, already the sixth in a row.

The bike park covers an area of about 900 m2 and is elliptical in shape. It has an outer loop, one double track and a medial connecting loop. We will plant grass and set up benches around the park. The work was carried out by the company Aliansa ASE. The value of the project is approximately 65,000.00 EUR, excluding VAT.

Facilitating playing and skill development

Bike parks are designed as public areas for active spending of free time for citizens of all age groups. They are mainly intended for playing and practising skills with various types of vehicles, from bikes, scooters, skateboards, inline skates and roller skates to balance bikes.
Due to the great popularity of bike parks, we have been transforming some brownfield areas into bike parks for several years, and we are also constructing them near the neighbourhoods of the Public Housing Fund of the City of Ljubljana, for instance, the newest bike parks near the neighbourhoods on Cesta v Gorice and Novo Brdo. We set up the first bike park already in 2016 in Šiška, a year later in Bežigrad and then in Fužine. Soon we plan to construct bike parks also in Podutik and Vič (in cooperation with Spar Slovenia).
