Open-air Cinema at the Congress Square

You are kindly invited to the admission-free screening of three timeless movie classics at the Congress Square, on 24, 25 and 26 August at 21:00.

Kinodovor is commemorating three 100-year anniversaries with three movies:
• Ingrid Bergman would be 100 years old on 29 August this year. The star of the European and Hollywood movie scene is honoured with the screening of Casablanca (Michael Curtiz, USA, 1942), one of the most popular movies in the actress’s career.
• Orson Welles was born in the same year as Ingrid Bergman and enjoyed a double reputation as a pragmatic Hollywood director and a herald of free-spirited European art film. We pay tribute to this artist who never lost his passion for experimenting with the screening of The Lady from Shanghai (Orson Welles, USA, 1948) in its most recent manifestation: a 4k restoration of the original nitrate negative.
• And the last »star« marking its centenary this year is Technicolor, the process that has been bringing glorious colours to the screen since 1915. From a long track record that includes dozens of cinematic jewels and wonders we have chosen a MGM's masterpiece among musicals, Singin' in the Rain (Gene Kelly, Stanley Donen, USA, 1952).

The movies start at 21:00 and admission is free!
The event is made possible by Ljubljana Tourism and Zavarovalnica Triglav, patron of Kinodvor.
