People Living in the City Give it its Pulse

Within the framework of this year’s European Mobility Week, a promotional campaign supporting cycling took place in Ljubljana in cooperation with Heineken with which cyclist so-designed the city and contributed over 20,000 km to improve the cycling infrastructure.

It is responsible and necessary to find one’s own place in the city in which we live. What we do today is going to be visible tomorrow. That is the reason behind the activity in September with which the City of Ljubljana and Heineken encouraged people to do more #urbancycling.
The project is Heineken’s global story the trademark is telling around the world. It is a project motivating people to shape the city. Namely, each city is a story in itself, it is a blank canvas calling to be activated and to create something new, changes.
This year Heineken Slovenia chose Ljubljana, the holder of the title European Green Capital 2016, to write a local story. For all kilometres and cyclists’ energy contributed Heineken is going to donate funds for the improvement of the cycling infrastructure and together with the City of Ljubljana it plans to renovate sections of cycling routes, by summer of 2017, where in the experts’ opinion renovation works are necessary to improve cyclists’ safety.
They are going to renovate route sections at the crossroads of Reselj Street and Petkovšek Embankment, Bohorič Street, Malenšek Street and the cycling path on Zalog Street, the section between 30th August Street and Dew Path (Rosna pot). On three locations in the city Heineken also set up bicycle racks for 10 bikes.
And so since this autumn Ljubljana is a true cycling capital! Thank you for sharing your energy with the city.
