Presentation of Ljubljana's achievements in Brussels

Within the framework of this year’s European Mobility Week the city network EUROCITIES prepared an open air exhibition in Brussels where the City of Ljubljana also presented its achievements in the field of sustainable mobility.

The City of Ljubljana was invited by the EUROCITIES organisation to the exhibition to present some of its sustainable measures implemented in previous years, among them the pedestrian zone in the city centre, the renovation of Slovenska Street, improvements in public transport and in cycling, and the development of »smart« mobility in Ljubljana.
At the exhibition, held during the European Mobility Week, between 16 and 22 September 2016, in some of the most popular squares in Brussels, the achievements of the cities serving as role models with regard to sustainable mobility were presented.
In addition to Ljubljana, other exhibitors were Bremen, Budapest, Lisbon, Lyon, Milano, Murcia, Nantes, Sofia, Tallinn, Utrecht, Vienna and Wrocław.

The Eurocities network of European cities was founded in 1986 by the mayors of six large cities: Barcelona, Birmingham, Frankfurt, Lyon, Milano in Rotterdam, and now Ljubljana in one of the 130 biggest European cities and 40 partner cities in the network with over 130 million residents. Among the aims of its members is to achieve equality of pedestrians, cyclists and motor vehicle drivers in traffic.
