The renovation of the southern part of the Slovenska Street from the Šubičeva to the Aškerčeva Street will be of benefit mostly to pedestrians and cyclist. Traffic will be obstructed due to preparation works from 4 August 2015 and until further notice; however it will continue in both directions.

After the alteration of the traffic regime the section will be revamped as a two-lane street with cycling paths on both sides and pavement for pedestrians; the crossroads will be superelevated. The south side is planned for a tree-lined lane on the widened pedestrian surface. Two stations for the public transportation are planned. The area will also undergo renovation of water distribution and sewerage system, partially also gas line and hot water line.

The scope of obstruction and potential detours will be adapted to the field work, which depends on archaeological excavations.
