On 21 and 22 October 2023, the 27th Volkswagen Ljubljana Marathon was held in Ljubljana, this is the largest international running event in our country, in which over 22,500 runners participated.

A new record was set in the men's category, the new record holder is Sisay Lemma Kasaye.

Immense increase in applications

This year, the organizers received as much as 35 percent more applications than last year. A total of 22,500 male and female runners registered, of which a little over 2,000 participated in the 42-kilometre run. Numerous runners from abroad also participated in the marathon, 4,500 runners from 68 countries registered. Check out some of the highlights.
