For two weeks between 7 and 21 April, Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport will be closed to all traffic.
During the closure all services will be directed to Maribor Airport. Slovenia's national carrier, Adria Airways, whose operations account for approximately 75 percent of the total air traffic at Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport, will move its operations to Maribor Airport, and so will most of other airlines serving Ljubljana's airport.
The announced works will result in the completion of the extensive renovation of the airport's runway, undertaken last year. The renovated 3,300-metre long and 60-metre wide runway will ensure greater passenger safety. The runway was covered with asphalt in 1978. Its last thorough renovation took place in 1992.
