At the European Week for Waste Reduction the municipal utility companies presented an initiative “Together for a Better Society”, with which they have warned of the amount of disposed food.

Slovenian municipal utility companies formed the initiative Together for a Better Society, with which they want to achieve that Slovenes would reduce the amount of disposed food, think critically about purchasing intentions, drink tap instead of bottled water, buy more second-hand products or borrow them.

Within the framework of the initiative the utility companies also began with activities that draw attention to the problem of food disposal. On 26 November 2014 the public company Snaga put 82 kilograms of food in front of the City Hall and showed how much food is discarded each year by an average individual.
