The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) announced that the Ljubljana Marathon, the biggest running event in our country, is ranked among the top most golden label events, counting only 42 marathons around the world in 2018.

And so, the Ljubljana Marathon is ranked among the best marathons, such as the ones in Berlin, Tokyo, Prague, Paris and other cities.

Each year over 23,000 runners take part in the largest international sports event in Ljubljana. Among them almost 8,000 children participate in school runs, 6,000 runners go on the 10 km run and over 9,000 runners take on the half marathon and the marathon.
