Zalog Logistics Centre

On Wednesday, 5 June 2024, we opened the Zalog Logistics Centre, strengthening Ljubljana's position in the European corridor network and making it the leading land logistics provider in South-Eastern Europe.

The technologically modern and energy-efficient Zalog Logistics Centre will provide 45,000 new pallet spaces, adding to the over 100,000 pallet spaces the company BTC set up at the beginning of 2024. The centre is located in the immediate vicinity of the highway cross, strategically positioned on the Mediterranean and Baltic-Adriatic TEN corridors, which provides an excellent starting point for optimising local and regional transport routes.

The warehouse facility is primarily intended for storing and manipulating everyday products (FMCG), with the possibility of adjusting capacities for companies operating in the e-commerce sector. The centre is environmentally friendly with green and innovative technology. There is a photovoltaic power plant on the roof (34,000 m²), the office part of the centre is covered by a green roof (4,500 m²), and the floor is heated by a heat pump (water-to-water). The centre has two own water boreholes and smart LED lighting.

Strategic location

The centre is located at the crossroads of supply routes and international transit logistics chains (Central and Eastern Europe and the Adriatic region), in close proximity to the railway container terminal (7 km). The connection to the international cargo port of Luka Koper – Port of Koper (110 km) and the main Ljubljana airport (38 km) is easy, and the close proximity to BTC City, one of the largest shopping, business, leisure and cultural centres in Europe, and the headquarters of the company BTC, is a major advantage.

The project is a partnership between BTC, d.d., Slovenian Railways, d.d., Mercator, d.d., the City of Ljubljana and other partners.
