The recipients of the Župančič Award 2014, conferred by the City of Ljubljana for exceptional creative work in the area of art and culture, are announced. The solemn award ceremony will take place on 11 June 2014 at Kinodvor – City Cinema.

The City of Ljubljana has awarded excellence of four artists who shape the reputation of Ljubljana at home and abroad:
The Župančič Award for life work will go to academician Niko Grafenauer, a poet, translator, storyteller and essayist.
The Župančič Award for two-year creativity (2012–2014) will be received by the champion of the Mladinsko Theatre, the dramatic and film actress, Janja Mazelj; the film and video director, set and costume designer, Ema Kugler; and the film director, screenwriter and author, Metod Pevec.
