This year some 600 new trees in Ljubljana
Ljubljana is becoming even greener, as we are planting new trees in several locations, and we are also taking into account citizens’ initiatives. In spring we have already planted some 140 trees and until the end of the year we are going to plant over 460 more.

Tree of 2020 chosen
On 28 November, the day when we are marking the efforts of people who are taking care of trees in cities, we are presenting the Tree of 2020. The whole year the title is going to be held by the weeping beech, which is growing in the garden in front of the house at Vodnikova cesta 93 where the owners of the land are taking exemplary care of it.

We are further expanding the BicikeLJ system
This fall we have brought bicycles in the self-service bicycle rental system BicikeLJ even closer to our citizens by setting up 9 new locations with 90 bicycles. Ljubljana has already 72 BicikeLJ stations and 720 bicycles.

Decisively for the European Capital of Culture 2025
On Tuesday, 24 November 2020, we submitted the second application book for the candidacy of Ljubljana for the European Capital of Culture 2025. Ljubljana is running for the title with the support of 25 municipalities of the Ljubljana Urban Region.
