European award for the Energy Advanced project
Within the framework of the Covenant of Mayors Investment Forum on the topic of financing projects in the field of energy efficiency and rational use of energy in Brussels we received the European Energy Service Award 2019 for the first part of the Energy Advanced project, within the scope of which we have carried out energy renovations of 48 buildings in Ljubljana in a public-private partnership with the consortium of companies Petrol and Resalta.

Again this year participating in MIPIM in Cannes
Again this year the City of Ljubljana is participating in MIPIM 2019 in Cannes, the largest investment and property show in Europe, where we are presenting some of our projects.

Hostel Celica received the Gold Travelife environmental certificate
Hostel Celica, which is since last year managed by the public institute Ljubljana Castle, again received a prestigious recognition – the Gold Travelife certificate.

A new lion enclosure at the anniversary of the Ljubljana ZOO
On Saturday, 9 March 2019, we celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Ljubljana ZOO. Within the framework of the anniversary celebrations, we opened a new lion enclosure with Maksimus and Čaja reigning in it.

First public mini junction for quick charging of electric vehicles in Slovenia set up in Ljubljana
In Ljubljana, at the Petrol gas station on Tržaška 130, we opened the first public mini junction for quick charging of new generation electric vehicles in Slovenia which is part of the European project URBAN-E. And so, on Tržaška in Ljubljana four new generation electric vehicles can be charged simultaneously.

Victory at the Berlin travel trade show
On 6 March 2019, at one of the largest and most important travel trade shows in the world, the Berlin ITB, prestigious awards were presented to the best destinations on the Global Top 100 Sustainable Destinations list.

KINODVOR 10: city cinema – the cornerstone of cinema culture
Last year, when we celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Kinodvor City Cinema, almost 120,000 visitors saw over 345 film programmes at 2071 screenings. 2018 was specially marked by the strong presence of Slovenian film.

Ljubljana is building a gas and steam unit
The public energy company Energetika Ljubljana received the final two technical proposals and the first two commercial proposals for the main technological equipment for the construction of a gas and steam unit within the heat and power station TE-TOL, taking the majority of coal out of Ljubljana in 2022.
