Again this year, Ljubljana is preparing the traditional spring cleaning campaign For a More Beautiful Ljubljana. Between 22 March, World Water Day, and 22 April, World Earth Day, numerous activities are planned emphasising the significance of clean, green, well-managed and sustainably oriented Ljubljana.

First published public tender for festival co-financing
The City of Ljubljana published the first public tender for the selection of two-year cultural projects in the field of festivals to be co-financed in 2018 and 2019.

New green tourism award for Ljubljana
At the travel trade show in Berlin, Slovenia and its two golden destinations from the Green Tourism Scheme, namely, Ljubljana and Podčetrtek received the best sustainable destination award in the category Best Destination of Europe.

This year we marked the International Women’s Day by opening an exhibition of art and literary works of schoolchildren created on the topic Gender Equality: Family Division of Work.

Ljubljana received the title most dog-friendly city 2017.

Football People – Whole Rainbow of People
On 9 February 2018, the round table titled Football People – Whole Rainbow of People was held at the City Hall where the participants opened a discussion on the social role of football, openness and inclusion with special emphasis on the LGBTIQ community, as well.

Fish sculpture on Gallus Embankment
On the renovated Gallus Embankment the Fish sculpture is now erected bringing together the refurbished embankment of the Ljubljanica River.

CHAIRity – they got a new lease on life
On Monday, 5 February 2018, at the City Hall, Mayor Zoran Janković hosted the children from Ljubljana’s primary schools who took part in workshops renovating old chairs for the CHAIRity project.
