In London, Ljubljana Tourism received the prestigious WTM Responsible Tourism Award in the category Best for Communication in the field of responsible tourism.

Ljubljana again among the best
In the competition of the Academy of Urbanism for the Urbanism Awards 2018 Ljubljana made it among the finalists in the European City of the Year category. Bilbao was declared the best city.

Meeting of Rainbow Cities in Ljubljana
On Thursday and Friday, 9 and 10 November 2017, the 5th regular meeting of the Rainbow Cities Network is held in Ljubljana. It is attended by representatives of 26 cities from 15 countries.

Mayor Zoran Janković received high recognition of the Russian Federation
In Moscow, on Saturday, 4 November 2017, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin awarded the Order of Friendship to Mayor Zoran Janković for his contribution to strengthening Slovenian-Russian relations and preserving the memory of Russian and Soviet soldiers fallen on Slovenian territory during the First and the Second World War.

Jože Plečnik posthumously recognised
On Saturday, 28 October 2017, the Czech Statehood day, the Czech President Miloš Zeman awarded the posthumous high state recognition, the Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk Order, to the architect Jože Plečnik.

Positive attitude regarding tourism amongst citizens of Ljubljana
Presented below are the results of research regarding the attitude of townspeople to tourism. That research indicates a generally positive attitude, while the city is announcing workshops for the citizens of Ljubljana with the aim of exploring opportunities and solutions to improve our coexistence with tourists.
